Okay, Mr. Burgess. When you make a comment about principles needing to wait to talk to their sections until you have spoken, it’s obvious that you are talking to me. And then when you say “We need a hierarchy and I’M the boss,” I get pissed off. If you can’t say it to my face, shut up.
And then today, the orthodontists. They love harassing me and then trying to convince me to get hot pink braces and then confusing me with the whole OPEN MOUTH CLOSE MOUTH thing and then taking some braces off on appointment, and then putting them RIGHT BACK ON the next appointment.
with Haley Hamlin. She’s the other euph player in band, and she has a flesh eating disorder. And as of band today, she’s having my child, which she wants to name Goliath if it’s a girl and Golsto if it’s a guy. So now I have to hold down the section even more, because I could never leave a pregnant person with a flesh-eating disorder exposed.
Ahahaha, I love band.
And I’m lead trombone in Jazz band again, thankyouverymuch. :)
STUDENT TEACHING AGAIN TOMORROW :) I love music. It makes life so much better.
So the Formans and I ate out and the restaurant had crayons and paper-table-cloth, so I wrote a trio for French Horn, Euphonium, and Bass Trombone with green, red, and orange crayons, titled “Yet Another Night Without Lena.”
I am skilled, though I still have NO idea what it sounds like, but Adam took a picture, so I am going to put it in Finale at some point and see if my music theory skills were useful for once. :)
My teaching skills went flying up in the past week. :) That went SO well, except for the fact that I took up 22 minutes instead of 12. OOOOOOPS. :P
And I saw my brother, and he doesn’t hate me, so I’m EXTRA happy :)
Today was ideal. We played a game in Calc (even though that game was SO rigged for the other team!!!!!!), then I played French Horn, then Euphonium, then Clarinet, then Trumpet. I didn’t even know I could play trumpet anymore!
You are disgusting, and you cover my face in things like peanut butter and jelly. You are a gross, fancy-dancy rabble-rousing mucky-muck.
And yet I love you. :)
Pasta Night 2009 - sort of a success, but it wouldn’t have been the same without you. We got SO close, and that was awesome. And then you saved my life over the past few months, and now we’re doing Pasta Night ROUND TWO wooooohooo and yeah.
You’re amazing, and I’m totally ditching everybody and everything to move to Alaska with you, where I will teach the moose how to sing and play instruments (only the ones I like, of course. Trumpet shall be no more. muahaha.) and you will take pictures of them and the salmon and the bears SLAUGHTERING the salmon and we will be very happy forever and ever.
But you’re not allowed to bring the silly Belgian, for he is too tall, and we would have to build a really tall hut to fit him, and it’s not worth the effort, because he eats a lot too.
I love you, but you don’t have a Tumblr, so I will probably email this to you because it took effort, so I don’t want it to go to waste.

Student teaching? INTENSE. I loved it. Those kids are AMAZING. I am so excited. This is going to be an AMAZING year. :)
Butttttt naturally, on my way into the school, I walked right into a pole shorter than me and now I have a red spot on my nose where it tore the skin off :P It was a GREAT way to begin my teaching, haha.
Tomorrow I begin getting a glimpse of the rest of my life. I’m student-teaching the Ashford School Junior High Band, and I am so nervous.
I’m conducting this amazing piece called Bosnian Folk Songs by Fred Allen. It’s beautiful and awesome, but it has SO much syncopation, so I’m starting with an F Major (the key of the beginning and end of the piece) Scale with a eighth, quarter, eighth, half pattern.
Then everybody is going to play the melody.
Then we’re going to work the chorale section of the piece.
I HAVE TWELVE MINUTES.
I am scared. My piece is the challenge piece of the concert. Meaning my piece is going to be what makes those kids get better for the first half of the year.
Hmmmm. One confession? This is tough, because I’m an open book. Like, literally, the biggest secret for me to keep was that I’m an orange….. and that only lasted until I actually had somebody to be an orange for, lol. SO. What shall I confess?
Even now, when I really can’t sleep, I take a benedryl, drink a glass of warm milk, and watch TV until I can’t stay up any longer :P
My family is most likely going to NEW HAMPSHIRE this Saturday. I hope we’re staying over. I better get to see him, even if he’s in a cruddy mood after orchestra. OH that would be nice. We’ll see how that idea flies with mom :P ahahaha, yeah right. But I can try?
AND today in Men’s Chorus, I went from Bass 1 tag-along to Tenor 2 section leader? What? This should be OODLES of fun.
And we’re doing some AWESOME music in orchestra, including the Cowboys Overture. SOOOOO good :) And I’m playing horn, so I get the FUN parts. :)
And English was like the most intense English class I have ever been in. Like, holy crap. I was surprised.
And we played the concert march in band today (Fairest of the Fair by Sousa, if you were interested) and we sounded GOOOOOOD. Like, not lame-corny-bad-band sound. GOOD. I was pleased.
So much fun. Except when you’re the kid beyond afraid of heights, and your friend makes you do the ride thing where you’re locked in this little two-person cage and flips and stays upside down and goes really fast and your friend is like “LOOK HOW HIGH WE ARE!” and “WOAH THIS THING IS SO RUSTY!” and “OH HEY LOOK, YOU CAN SEE MY CAR ALLLLL THE WAY OVER THERE!”
